Visual illusions, and what they tell us
Speaker Mike Griffiths
Perhaps you remember that dress from 2015 – was it black and blue, or white and gold? It is just one of many examples of illusions and other visual phenomena we will look at. They are great fun. But also, they can tell us something about how our visual perception works. Perhaps by the end of the talk you will agree with Mike that what we see is a real-time simulation of the world around us.

Mike Griffiths has two degrees in psychology. He is the SigSec of the Psychology SIG, an international Mensa Special Interest Group open to any member interested in any aspect of psychology. And who isn’t?

This talk will be held on the first floor of the Centre for Student Life, Room 1.26 / 1.27
