A Different View on Climate Change
Speaker Kurt Fuchs
Everybody knows that there is a change in the global climate. Experts expect a rise in the sea level of about 30 cm by2050 and something between one and two meters by 2100. But what if everything will happen much faster? There is no consistent model for a substantial estimation of the speed of the melting of the polar ice shields. What we know is that there are many different effects that contribute in an acceleration of the melting process. What we do not know is, how these effects interact with each other and enforce each other. And with the re-election of Donald Trump, global measures against the climate change will just not be taken. So we better start talking about how to adjust to a warmer planet and especially a much higher sea level.
This talk will take place on the first floor of the University Centre for Student Life (room 1.24 / 1.25)
