IMPROV THEATRE – Fun acting techniques which help you in daily life :-)
Presenter TeeKay Kriesseg
Whether intentionally or unconsciously, we all construct and communicate personal identities that emphasize certain aspects of our personalities. Sometimes we can choose our audiences, but sometimes we can only adapt to the situation, go with the flow and mingle with the crowd to change it from within.
Empathy, strategies for reacting flexibly to your environment, and lucid self-awareness are the key elements for improving and perfecting your communication skills.
By observing actors, we can learn a lot about our own performances in various roles. Whether on the job, at home among family and friends, in front of an association or club, or with a broader audience such as a political party - acting techniques can be very helpful...
This workshop full of practical exercises will give you insights into the basics of an actor’s education, broaden your horizon, and help you see through the “tricks” of public performance.
You will learn to overcome stage fright and value the wonderful experience when the simple phrase “Oh yeah!” turns a problem into an exhilarating new chance to learn and grow! You will discover that the boy scout motto “Be prepared” still applies, but that its counterpart, “Unprepared? Never mind!” will let you to enjoy a fresh and unobstructed view on reality.
Fun guaranteed!
This activity will be held on the first floor of the Centre for Student Life
